Meet Our Leaders
Here at Oak Grove we seek to follow New Testament pattern of the church being led by a plurality of elders.
Adam Fitzgerald
Primary Preaching and Teaching Elder
Adam joined the elders at Oak Grove Baptist Church in August of 2022. Prior to that, he served as the Associate Pastor at Sardis Baptist Church in Swansea, SC. Before entering full-time ministry, he taught social studies and coached football in both the Bismarck and Sheridan public school districts.
Adam grew up just outside of El Dorado, AR, graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, and eventually went on to complete both a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and a Master of Arts in Religion/Biblical Studies from Liberty University Online.
He and his wife Kelly have three children (AJ, Eddie, and Halle), and they all enjoy spending time doing anything outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, gardening, hiking, or working with the dogs or horses. They are always up for an adventure and see the greatest adventure of all as having their lives spent in service to the savior.
Tony has been a church member at Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1994. Raised in Arkadelphia, AR as an ABA Missionary Baptist, he dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at the age of 9. After high school he attended Henderson State University where he met his wife, Jennifer (Pounds) Burrow. Shortly after getting married in 1990, Tony attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary 1991-93 and served two churches in the Little Rock area as Youth and Associate Pastor.
In 1994, Tony and Jennifer relocated back to Jennifer’s hometown of Ashdown, AR and joined Oak Grove, Jennifer’s home church. Shortly after relocating, Tony became an IBEW electrical apprentice and began working for Nantze Electric in Texarkana and served in various non-paid positions at Oak Grove, including youth, SS/DT teaching, nursing home ministry, various committees, filling in the pulpit, and deacon.
After 6 years of serving in the church and working for Nantze, he became an owner of the business where he now serves as its President some 24 years later. Oak Grove installed Tony as a lay elder in 2021 when the church reformed its constitution to be plurality elder lead and congregationally ruled.
Tony and Jennifer are very proud of their two grown sons and daughters-in-law. Eli (Electrician) and Sara Burrow of Ashdown, AR. Kyle (Historian) and Cassie Burrow of Haskell, AR. Tony enjoys theology and learning, teaching, building & designing anything, operating Machinery, fishing, flying, traveling, and serving Christ & others in and through The Lords church and the local community business.
